Commission design and finances
Most commissions begin with some sense of direction provided
by the client, and evolve through a process of dialog to
arrive at the final design, which is then carefully handcrafted.
This visual dialog usually begins with my presentation of
rough ideas, which are then gradually refined, incorporating
the client’s responses. Site visits are ideal, however,
I often work long distance on smaller projects using a variety
of communication methods – photos of the site, phone
conversations, mailing and e-mailing of designs and glass
samples. I often use photographs as an initial point of inspiration
for projects. Any of my existing project designs can be used
as a source and modified to fulfill your project requirements.
My studio payment schedule is 10% down, 50% due upon client
approval of design, and 40% due upon completion. Prices vary
widely based upon the types of materials used and the complexity
of the design.
